Principal's Message

Welcome to the Pamlico County High School family - Home of the Canes! I am elated to begin my first year as your Principal for the 2021-2022 school year. I have been in education nearly 14 years and have never been so excited to start a school year. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, I moved to New Bern in 2004 and married my high school sweetheart. We have 3 amazing boys, Matthew (12), Wes (9) and Nate (3) as well as our “fur babies” Beau, Daisy and Lucy. We love watching The Office, attending sporting events, going to the mountains and spending time together as a family.
I was drawn to Pamlico County Schools because of its sense of pride, community and support of its young people and educators. The feeling of “family” I felt the moment I stepped foot on our campus was comforting, humbling and rejuvenating! I knew instantly that this was where I was meant to be - and to stay for as long as you’ll have me.
I realize the last year and a half has been anything but ideal for our students, teachers, parents and the entire country; however, my goal for this school year is to get all of us back on track by remembering how to “do” school. This is going to take a lot of hard work from our entire school community but I am certain if we work as a team, we will accomplish and surpass any and all of our goals! So, prepare to take this journey with me by ensuring your student is present, prepared and poised to be a “CAT 5 Cane”!
