PCHS FFA on the Move!

The Pamlico County High School FFA (Future Farmers of America) students are off to a busy start this year! Already in the past month, they have attended the NC FFA Wildlife Camp, the Regional Leadership Conference, and had a field trip to the Simply Natural Creamery and S&N Poultry Education Center!

At Wildlife Camp the students learned about all aspects of wildlife from presenters from NC FFA, NC Wildlife Commission, and Ducks Unlimited, among others. Our very own Lucas Browne even won the Wildlife Camp Duck Calling Contest! Congrats Lucas!

The Regional Leadership Conference's theme was "Find Your Why" and our 5 FFA officers began to do that as they took part in training and activities all designed to help them become better leaders. The conference this year was hosted by the South Lenoir High School FFA.

The field trip to the Simply Natural dairy was not only DELICIOUS but also informative as the students and their teachers learned about how dairy cows are produced and cared for. The afternoon was spent learning at S&N poultry education center. Our students dressed the part as they learned how broiler chickens are raised to produce the chicken we eat. This field trip was done in collaboration with the PCHS culinary classes.

Thank you to Ms. Hannah Hart and Mr. Stephen Browne for being such energetic leaders to this fantastic organization.
