Open the Google Slides to see Extra Credit opportunities. You may upload your picture and info to the slideshow for Extra Credit 1. You will have to make a copy for Extra Credit 2. Bonus if you include video of your family discussion of the movie. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Complete the webquest. You may need to activate Flash by clicking the lock to the left of your search bar. When you click the lock, then choose "site settings" and then allow flash. You will then be able to reload the page with flash working.
*Please note this has been changed from the paper copy that I gave you last week. Just skip the questions on your paper copy that are not on this version. The link for #8 isn't working today so just skip it.

Read this week's Earthweek and complete the Google Form. Have a wonderful Wednesday! Remember you can always go to earthweek.com and click on the map and make it larger or open the pdf. Remember that your computer has zoom tools (+) to make it large enough to read without straining your eyes.

Listen to the podcast episode on ocean plastic and answer the questions on slide 7.

After you watch the short videos, answer the questions.

Be sure to complete the graphing portion of your lab and answer all questions. Turn into the tray when finished.

Today you will make a pixel art picture while reviewing the water cycle. Do this activity first, then when you finish, work on your River Basins project, and then any other assignment not completed. If you did not turn in your Endangered Species research, it is important that you do that ASAP! It was a quiz grade and it counts a lot more than your other assignments.
Directions for the pixel art activity:
1. For the activity, you will open the attached google sheet.
2. Once you open the sheet, you will see 18 questions about the water cycle to answer. There is a word bank at the bottom middle of the spreadsheet.
3. Type in the correct correct answer and click return. If it is correct, the computer will color in some blocks in the spreadsheet. (you might have to scroll down to see the colored in blocks).
4. When you finish, your spreadsheet should have an image. Send me a screenshot or attach your google sheet with me or just share it.

Since tomorrow is a TWD and you get a break from assignments, I am posting this today. Complete the Google Form while you read the Earthweek.

This is just another copy of the webquest. This is not a new assignment. Complete this portion of the webquest. This part has several simulations to run. Take your time, you will have both Thursday and Friday to complete this. This is due on Friday.

Complete the Atmosphere Color by Number worksheet.

1. Complete the Severe Weather Webquest. This is part one of a long webquest. I have broken it up into 2 parts. It is ok if it takes you a couple of days to complete both parts of the webquest. I have given you until Friday to turn both parts 1 and 2 of this webquest.

Read the attached Earthweek and complete the Google Form.

Work on the worksheets that I gave you last week.

Today you will do something different for your Earthweek assignment. You will need to fill out the attached Google Form as you read the Earthweek.
1. Open this week's Earthweek.
2. Open your Google Form and skim the questions.
3. Read the Earthweek and fill in the Form as you read.
4. Submit the form.

Several of you have asked about this in class, especially now that we are in the Greek Alphabet names this season.
1. Click the link below to learn about how storms are named. Be sure to watch the videos and follow the links provided.
2. Answer the 5 Questions. You may create a Google Doc or write on paper.
3. Share or send a photo of your answers.
4. Complete your Atmosphere Boom Cards and any other missing work from last week.

Endangered Species Assignment

You will research 3 Endangered Species. One must be a plant. The format that you choose to present your information is up to you. It can be a presentation, scrapbook, video documentary, poster, brochure, diorama, etc. Please keep in mind that this must be turned in by Friday so pick a format that is easy to turn in. This is a formal assignment and will count as a Quiz grade so be sure to turn in your best work. Grammar and spelling should be double checked and do not copy paste information from websites without changing the font and formatting to be uniform throughout.

Important: Fill out the Google Form below before the end of the day on Tuesday so I know you have started planning this mini project.

You are describing each organism and telling why it is endangered. Be sure to include the following requirements to be sure you have given a detailed description of each of your organisms:

A detailed description of the organism's characteristics.

Include a picture.

What does it eat? Does the organism have predators? If so list them. Bonus: Include a food chain or web.

Description of habitat.

Be sure to tell where it lives (City, Country) It would be a good idea to include a map. List the biome and climate region.

Why is this species endangered?

What is the estimated population left in the world?

Describe the plan of action to save this species.

Include the source of your information. Include the name of each website used. Google is not a resource. You must list the name of the actual website.

a. Which article did you find the most interesting and why?
b. Which article did you find the least interesting.
c. Write down something that you learned.
***Be sure you are answering these questions in complete sentences. I have been very lenient on grading these but this week you will not receive credit if you do not answer the question in complete sentences. Also be sure when you write what you learned you actually tell me what it was you learned. Example: "This week I learned that earthquakes can happen in North Carolina because of the fault lines that run through the mountains". This would give you full credit vs "I learned about earthquakes". Notice this doesn't really tell me anything. Be specific.

For this assignment you will learn about the different Biomes by completing a webquest.
1. Open your copy of the Biomes Webquest. The file has active links to help you complete the assignment. Answer the questions.
2. The main website is Blue Planet Biomes. Then you can click on the tab for "world biomes" for the information if the links do not work. The "World Biomes" dropdown menu will show each of the biomes for each section of the webquest.

1. Review the powerpoint notes. You will need to use the Growthcurvespdf for the notes and the ppt for the links. Sorry but it won't let me fix it.
2. Complete the Reindeer Activity.
3. Complete the Population Growth Reflection Ticket.

1. Download the worksheet Ecofootprint Activity. Follow the directions on the worksheet.
2. Click the link for the Ecological Footprint Calculator and follow directions on the worksheet.
3. You may choose to answer the questions on loose leaf paper so you can complete the graphs without having to use editing tools. Just be sure to attach them with the document in Google Classroom.
* Be sure to answer the questions that are asked in Part F. They are two part questions and/or ask for more than one example.

1.Go to the CK12 website and read through the tutorial about deforestation.

2 .Write down the bold print words and their definition (these will be your notes).

3. Watch the Explore More Videos (both 1 and 2) and answer all questions. There are 11 questions in all. Please be sure to submit these in the Google Classroom. It can be a picture of your written work on paper or on a Google Doc.

This section will be Ecosystem Review Questions. I have shared an example with you. If you use this example be sure to make a copy before you edit it.

3. Answer the 5 Review Questions on a Google Doc. Title this section Ecosystem Review Questions.
